This is our second visit to Hai Tien Lou in Pan Pacific. But this time we went with my in laws, to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. We suggested the same venue as we find that the food are nice after our first trial a week back and decide to bring my mother in law to try.

This is also our treat to her, as a way to express our gratitude to her for doing my confinement for me. However, as it is still not over 40 days, again, I did not eat the prawns.

This is the next day after Daryl full month celebration and we went out to Hai Tien Lou to feast for Father Day celebration with my family. This is also the first time I happily and proudly bring along my EBM for little Daryl.

The bad thing about eating this resturant in Pan Pacific is that there is no nursing room lor....and I actually have to latch Daryl on in the ladies. Other than that, the food are nice especially the prawns, but I did not eat coz I was told that I can only take seafood 40 days after giving birth lor.

Finally, Daryl is One month old as per lunar calendar. We hold a celebration for him in our humble house in 2 session. Afternoon session for our friends and evening session for our relatives as the number of guests was large since Daryl is our 1st child and he is also the 1st grandchildren of both side family.

My parent come over rather early in the morning, to cut a little bit of Daryl hair (yi shi yi shi for the traditional customary), I keep the hair together with Daryl belly button that drop off (weeks back) in a red packet and keep it safely aside. Then we head back to my parent house to pray before we come back to my house and wait for guest to arrive.

We are too busy with our guest that we forget one important things - that is to take photo with our guests. Hahahaa..

Before Daryl's full month, while we are home doing my confinement, we do have some visitors too.

They are Natalie, her hubby and her boy, Julinah and Shalin. These 3 ladies are my ex colleagues from UOB too, and yes, we know each other over 10 year ago, when we are then still so young and all of us except Shalin have already promoted to mother.

They come during one of the week day evening, if I remember correctly it should be a Thurday evening ba, coz I recall my mother was around too when they are arrived.

Natalie even comment and ask how come I wear short and sleveless when I am doing confinement, while my mum will remember her boy as a very nice boy who is generous with his hug.

Shawn's 31st Birthday with his new role as a Daddy

I always tell Shawn that Daryl is his 31st Birthday present as Daryl is born on 2nd May while his birthday fall on 20th May. I decided to get a cake to have a mini celebration for Shawn for his 31st birthday since he have just been 'promoted' to a Dad.

After my check up with TMC parentcraft with Daryl, my sister and Aloy, we pop by NTUC AMK Hub to get the cake so that we can have a mini celebration when Shawn is back from work even though I am still doing my confinement.

Jaundice

When we discharged on Sunday, Daryl's PD Dr Ong told us to bring sun Daryl under the sun as his jaundice is at managable level. But the day of discharge was overwhelming as my whole family beside my brother and sister in law who are overseas are at my house + my mother in law, as such, we did not sun Daryl. Then on Monday, I put him on my L-shaped sofa to sun him as I remember I was told not directly under the sun mah. Then in the afternoon, my mummy called and ask me did Daryl poo or pee, then we realised, he actually did not poo or pee after we discharge. Getting worried, I suggest to Shawn that we bring him to see Dr Ong. Shawn refused as he thought it is because we did not give Daryl water to drink thus he will not have any pee. However, after I insisted, we bring him to see Dr Ong who say that Daryl jaundice level have shoot up and have to be hospitalised to undergo phototherapy.

Although I know it is common for baby to have jaundice, but my emotion during that time was totally not me at all. I broke down in the clinic. Then I decide that I will stay in with Daryl, as I know I will not be able to sleep at home with Daryl still in hospital, so to avoid the disturbance of other kids as we will be staying in the kids ward and not the maternity ward, we choose 1 bedded room so that Daryl can also be under the therapy in the room. We stayed 4 days 3 night from 5th May to 9th May before Daryl was better and can be discharged.

During my stay there, in the night, my sister and her boyfriend, Aloy will come keep me company as they worried I will be scared or I will think too much lor, coz I will cried on and off especially when I see Daryl under the phototherapy crying. They will only leave after I fall asleep.

Then on 8th May, Shawn brought Daryl chinese name which was 'calculated and given' by the naming shi fu which he consulted and asked me to register the name the next day when we discharged. That night, Shawn and me have our first quarrel after Daryl was born. What happen was that my emotion get the better of me and I sort have "talk rudely" to my mother in law after she repeatly mention the chinese name she suggested for Daryl from the day she suggest till this very day. I guess, if my emotion was still me, I will not have reacted the way I did ba.

After we discharged on the 9th, we were told to continue to sun Daryl in the sun for few more days. However, the sun seem to be hiding behind the clouds or the sky just look dark and about the rain lor. Anyway, when we go for Daryl's check up again, we were glad that his jaundice was cleared.

More people come to visit Daryl and me on the 2nd day, but mostly did not take photo. I do not remember the sequence or timing but roughly do remember who come over, but might miss out some coz my memory these days are rusty.

My sister long time friends since Secondary School come along, if my memory did not failed me, Yin Hwa, Xin Hui, Yuan Hua, and Yi Shan come, hope I did not left out any of them (Meina do correct me if I am wrong) in the afternoon.

Then my colleagues cum friend from APL come too, Mr Chan, Miss Chan and Miss Tham.....hahahaha....both Mr and Miss Chan dare not carry Daryl lor.

My good friend Lynn and her boyfriend Wei Boon also come to visit in the afternoon, and till today (4th Nov 2009) she still remember I was sitting on a float when they come.

Shawn's friend Guohui and his wife Dawn come along too in the evening I think. Our neighbour James and Jean come with little Issac also.

In the night, my more than 10 years ex colleagues from UOB aka my so call da jie Christine and her hubby come to visit me too. So nice of them especially we sort of lost touch for a while before we get back in touch before I got married. I still remember jie fu (Christine's hubby) still tease me if I still have another baby in me coz my tummy still look so big. Muahahahaa.

My close friend Grace was also around in the night and she joined in the chat with Christine and her hubby too. Then, we ask her to stay on even after Christine and her hubby left so that Shawn can send her home on his way home too.

One thing I remember very well is that I received alot of bottle chicken essence and bird nest and also a handful of useful gift for little Daryl.
